With a doctorate in industrial engineering, Sebastian Glende has worked with innovative approaches to user integration for several years. Before founding YOUSE with Christoph Nedopil, he researched and worked at the Technical University of Berlin (TU Berlin) and at the Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand. In these contexts, he backed a variety of product and service developments. Through his involvement with Daimler AG, BMW Motors and SAP, Sebastian has attained extensive experience with large industrial companies. Sebastian is and has been active in several institutions and operations. These include involvement with the Innovation Center for Health & Nutrition in the field of monitoring health and user integration, his position as former speaker of the federally funded Ministry for Family Affairs “Transfer Center Generation Plus,” and his position on the standing committee “Ergonomics Quality in Design” of the International Ergonomics Association. He has won several awards and scholarships through these activities. At YOUSE, Sebastian is primarily dedicated to the implementation and content development of user integration. As one of the directors of the company, he also takes care of expanding relationships and public relations, and holds lectures.

Angelika spent many years working in research at the Fraunhofer Center for Responsible Research and Innovation. Her strong interest in transformative design methods brought her to the world of design thinking, diversity, and ethics, which she has not yet let go of. She is particularly interested in the design aspects of the health care sector and passing her doctoral thesis at the Technical University of Berlin. With her extensive experience in creative methods and workshops, she never runs out of ideas, and her study participants will never be bored.

Michael is excited about behaviour research, particularly methods of empirical social research and the challenges of innovation development. At YOUSE, he combined both themes in various AAL projects for inquiries about stakeholder requirements, user requirements, or the marketing of social robots. Michael is a passionate advocate of the Mixed-Methods approach and he feels comfortable in statistics. When he finds the time for it, he pushes for the standardization of YOUSE, and does not shrink from interactive Google documents and megalomaniac Excel formulas.

Conny is a psychologist, particularly interested in legitimate measurement of human experience and behavior. In her “past life,” she was closely involved with physiological correlates of emotions and human-robot interaction before coming to YOUSE in 2010, where she is pleased to say that her diverse experience from the world of psychology and the world of technology is used perfectly. Conny’s specialty is the planning and execution of user studies, statistical data analysis and the measurement of user experience. She leads our Munich office.

Gudrun covers many diverse tasks with YOUSE: As an executive assistant to the managing director, she works on projects and is our contact for all questions about our user panels. She uses her communicative and administrative talent to organize workshops and tests, and is also responsible for the field of press and public relations. Gudrun draws on extensive experience: She worked for many years for the German House of Representatives, and in a large social group. She is especially competent in working with elderly and disabled people. She knows and understands their needs and appreciates their rich life experience.

After being trained and working several years as an educator, Fabian studied at Munich Management of Social Innovations. His main focus is using various methods to examine human creativity. Studying and supporting innovation and creation processes increased his interest in better identifying and evaluating the needs of users. At YOUSE, Fabian is responsible for innovation projects and user integration in research and industrial projects.

The doctorate philosopher and media researcher has led a variety of innovative and consulting projects and works in the field of innovation development for the home (Design Thinking, SCRUM, Lean Management, etc.). He is particularly interested in issues around innovation management and Lean Startup as well as integrated solutions for customers. At YOUSE, he leads the Stuttgart office, is active at the Stuttgart StartUpCampus and designs innovation processes and touchpoint analysis. Last but not least, Oliver also uses his extensive experience for our public relations.

Susann studied Sociology with specialization on technical sciences at the Technical University of Berlin. There, she was preoccupied with methods of social research in the area of ergonomics. As a technology socialist, she is interested in video interaction analysis and interactions at the micro level. Her research focus is the linking of qualitative and quantitative research methods to capture user experience. Susann is also responsible for knowledge management at YOUSE.

After studying management and social innovations, Annabel became particularly interested in social processes and the impact of innovation on them. In recent years, she’s gained diverse experience in managing both publicly funded and privately driven innovation projects. Annabel uses a holistic approach to innovation for her work at YOUSE: From the systematic identification of trends, to a comprehensive investigation of user needs and relevant stakeholders, through joint solution development with users and interdisciplinary project teams, all the way through to successful implementation.

After her education in the field of health and several years in intensive care, Maika first studied communication design (B.A.) in Berlin and later completed her master's degree in Ambient Assisted Living with distinction. At YOUSE, she focuses on the development of interaction concepts and interface designs. For this purpose, she finds out when, where, how and why future users use their products, and adapts them to the needs of the target group.

Pedram studies business psychology (M.Sc.) and is particularly interested in the efficient organization of qualitative data collection. At YOUSE, he is active in UX research and data analysis. Pedram combines data collection with the most modern data collection methods according to scientific criteria and ensures reliable and well-founded results in our projects.
